ATL Rundown · Powered by Final Floors, LLC

Condo flooring starts with the building requirements.

Before choosing planks or underlayment, obtain the current requirements for your specific condo or managed building. Rules vary. This guide does not claim affiliation, approval or past work at any named property.

ATL Rundown is operated by Final Floors LLC. Project inquiries go to Final Floors, not a contractor comparison marketplace.

Planning for Smyrna. Back to your city project guide

Get the approval package first

Ask management which documents and decisions are needed before materials are ordered or work is scheduled. Send those requirements with your estimate request.

  • Confirm alteration approval, product specifications and any certificate-of-insurance requirements.
  • Ask who approves substitutions and how changes are documented.
  • Obtain current work hours, delivery rules and protection requirements for shared areas.

Check the tested assembly, not just a pad label

Where sound-control documentation is required, compare the proposed floor, underlayment and substrate with the building’s criteria. An advertised rating alone may not establish approval.

  • Confirm which test or assembly documentation management requires.
  • Check whether the flooring already has an attached pad and whether extra underlayment is permitted.
  • Review door clearances and transitions after accounting for the complete floor height.

Coordinate installation and access together

Elevators, loading routes, material staging and occupied rooms can affect the sequence. Agree the logistics before treating a delivery or installation date as fixed.

  • Reserve permitted loading and elevator access through the building’s process.
  • Identify furniture moves, disposal routes and who protects common areas.
  • Confirm product-specific return-to-use timing before moving furniture back.

Send the building information with the floor information

Include city, building or project address, approximate area, floor photos, selected product and desired timing. Attach current approval or acoustic requirements if available.

  • Disclose slab concerns, soft spots and any leak history.
  • For post-mitigation replacement, include completion/readiness information and photos of retained adjoining floors.
  • The written estimate should separate preparation, installation, transitions and access-related work.
