Hardwood Floor Refinishing in Metro Atlanta
Worn, dull or scratched hardwood doesn't always need replacing. Final Floors sands, recoats and fully refinishes hardwood floors with a finish selected for the floor condition — reviving the wood you already own instead of tearing it out.
Direct to Final Floors. Not a bidding marketplace. A final quote follows the agreed scope.
Our flooring team handles everything from lighter recoats to complete sand-and-stain refinishing, including stain matching to existing floors and clean transitions to adjoining rooms.
Scope to discuss at your estimate
- Full sanding & refinishing or lighter recoating
- Stain matching to your existing hardwood
- Dust containment during sanding
- Clean transitions between refinished and existing rooms
- An honest assessment of whether a recoat or full refinish fits your floor
- Final walkthrough before we call it done
Signs your hardwood is ready for refinishing
- The finish looks dull and won't brighten with cleaning
- Surface scratches and pet wear you can't hide anymore
- High-traffic paths look darker and more worn than the rest of the floor
- You're refreshing a room and the floor is dragging it down
Recoat, refinish, repair or replace?
These are different scopes. A recoat addresses a suitable existing finish without full sanding. A full refinish removes the old finish and some wood, so the floor type, remaining wear layer and past sanding matter. Deep stains or damaged boards may need targeted repair or replacement. An assessment should establish what the floor can support before a new color is chosen.
What changes a refinishing estimate?
- Floor area and whether a recoat or full sanding is suitable
- Damaged boards, deep staining and repairs needed before finishing
- Stain changes, finish selection, room edges and stairs
- Furniture removal, access and the extent of connected flooring
Before the estimate
- Share photos of worn areas, stains and repairs, plus any known floor product details.
- Mention previous refinishing and the cleaning or polishing products used.
- Explain which rooms must stay accessible and where furniture can be moved.
- Ask about dust-control arrangements and the return-to-use plan for people and pets.
Finishing and full use are different milestones.
Repair work, sanding, stain decisions and the finish system set the schedule. Drying and curing are product-specific. Confirm when you can walk on the floor, return furniture and put rugs down. Dust control reduces disruption but does not mean the work is dust-free.
